Listen to Obituary
Nancy Harris Ward of Colorado Springs passed away November 21, 2021, in Fort Collins, CO, at the age of 80. Nancy was born in Portland, Oregon on April 21, 1941, to Leo L. and Catherine S. Harris. They moved to Colorado Springs when she was five years old.

Nancy grew up in Colorado Springs and after graduating from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Taylor Ward Sr. of Fountain, CO. She attended Blair Business College in Colorado Springs. They were married for 55 years and lived in Colorado Springs and Fountain, CO at Midway Ranch. Together they raised 3 children, Allison Kim (Wayne) Simshauser of Fountain, CO, Timothy Taylor (Ty) Ward, Jr. of Carr, CO, and Jennifer Jill Ward of Carr, CO.

Nancy loved trips with family, outings with friends and chatting with neighbors. One of their last trips was a road trip with the dogs (Charlotte and Hunter) that took them to California and up the coast into Canada. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, playing bridge and board games, and walking her dogs. She loved animals, especially her dogs and 'grand' dogs, and instilled that love in her children as well. She had a unique sense of humor and loved to play pranks on the unsuspecting. Nancy loved her tradition of calling her kids on New Year's Eve right at midnight. She moved to Fort Collins after the death of her husband where she made many new friends at Parkwood Estates and Centre Rehab.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tim, and beloved Keeshond, Charlotte. She is survived by children Kim, son-in-law Wayne, Ty, and Jennifer and 'grand' dog Cooper. Also surviving include her extended family: brother and sister-in-law, William (Bill) T. III and Donna Ward of Fort Collins, CO; cousins Margaret (Sargent) and Joe Lozar of Fruita, CO; nephews Bill Ward IV (Lisa), and sons, Ben and Jake; Scott Ward and sons, Tommy and Tyler; Kevin Ward and son Matt; and niece Bonnie Benham (Jeff), and son and daughter, Andy and Zoey (Sam) Kendall.

Celebration of Life to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy's name to Best Friends Animal Society.
