Nancy Howe Kreuter McClintock, age 65, on July 21, 2009, passed away at home with her family at her side, ending a valiant four year battle against stage four lung cancer. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina on December 1, 1943 to Col. Robert and Mrs. Elizabeth Betty Krueter where she joined brother Bobby, age three. Nancy spent her early years in the Philippines, Hampton, Virginia and Fort Monroe, and then moved to Santa Monica, California at the age of eight. She attended Lincoln Junior High and Santa Monica High School where she was Commissioner of Health and a song leader. Then on to Whitman College where she was a cheerleader and met her husband Gordon, whom she married in 1963. Mother of Pam McClintock of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Trish Baggerly of Boise, Idaho. Grandmother of Sammie and Sean Ingram of Highlands Ranch. Nancy lived many years in California: Daly City and San Francisco, Palo Alto and Los Altos Hills. She moved to Fort Collins in 1998 while also spending time at her winter home in Green Valley, Arizona. She worked a number of years at Activision in Menlo Park, California, as an administrative Assistant. Nancy was an active volunteer during her children's school and competitive sports years and beyond, working with Podium in Palo Alto to raise money for C.A.R. as well as acting as committee chair and president of Service League in Fort Collins, She was active in the Delta Delta Delta Sorority alumni societies in Fort Collins and Silicon Valley, and actively supported their various charities. She coached her daughters' Little League softball teams and worked at their swim meets. She was a life-long golf enthusiast, serving as a course rater with both the Northern California and Colorado Women's Golf Association. She was active at Palo Alto Hills and Fort Collins Country Clubs where she served on many committees. She was on the Board of Directors at Palo Alto Hills for four years and at Fort Collins Country Club for three. She was President of the Women's Golf Association at both. She was Women's Club Champion at Fort Collins Country Club in 2003 and at Palo Alto Hills in 1980 and 1981. She played in many Colorado and Northern California Women's Golf Association events, was a walking scorer at three men's U.S. Opens, one women's U.S. Open and many of the Crosby and AT&T Pebble Beach tournaments. Nancy would take on most anything. She loves to ski double diamond runs, relished her many visits to Hawaii, jumped out of an airplane, and went parasailing. In addition to golf, she loved playing bridge, mahjong, and gin rummy. She had three holes in one, including one in France. She was exuberant, accomplished and much loved by many in life, and will be horribly missed in death by her husband, children, grandchildren, brother and their extended families, and her many , many friends. A Celebration of Life will be August 2, 2009 at 4:00 pm at the Fort Collins Country Club, 1920 Country Club Road.
