Listen to Obituary
Nancy Elizabeth Brown was born in Evanston, Illinois, on January 28, 1929 to Bada Othelia Leidfeldt Hobbs and Thomas Henry Hobbs both deceased. An only child, she and her parents moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1945, where she attended her senior year of high school at Fort Collins High School, graduating in 1946. She married Edwin Dale Chub Brown on December 12, 1948 in Fort Collins, where she lived her entire married life. She worked as a Stanley Party hostess, insurance salesman, Curtis Publishing Company representative, and secretary at Colorado State University. In 1968 she and her husband began a typing and printing business known as Type-Ink, where for 25 years they typed and produced theses and dissertations for students at CSU and across the country. She and Chub were instrumental in planting Mountain Range Baptist Church, a Conservative Baptist Church in Fort Collins in 1986, and poured themselves into every aspect of the work. Nancy became church secretary and administrator, having the church office in her home for over 6 years, and then at the new church building at 3601 South Shields Street in Fort Collins. Her greatest love was serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, others, and the church. Her interests were prayer, witnessing, God's Word, reading, motorcycling, and spectator sports. She is survived by her husband, Chub Brown after 61 ½ years of marriage; one son, David Allan Linda Brown of San Francisco, California; four daughters: Kathleen Ann of Denver, Linda Sue Johnson Dick of Grand Junction, Janet Elaine of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Judy Gail of Redmond, Washington. Also, seven grand-children and five great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 16, 2 p.m. at Mountain Range Church, 3601 S. Shields. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Nancy's memory to Mountain Range Church's Helping Hand Fund.
