Muriel Agnes Bertsch, 92, of Fort Collins, died January 22, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Bertsch was born May 9, 1916 in Sidney, Ohio to Perry Petty and Birdie White Petty. Muriel married Christopher W. Bertsch on April 19, 1941 in Anna, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was an office manager at Copeland Refrigeration for 24 years. Mrs. Bertsch moved to Fort Collins from Sidney, Ohio in 1994. Muriel was a seamstress and quiltmaker, who taught Sunday and bible school; she was a campgrandmother and on the board of directors at the Lutheran Memorial Camp. Muriel was a member and past president of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women. She also enjoyed travelling and writing. Survivors include her two daughters, Janet Pleiman and her husband Ron of Fort Collins and Barbara Gritzmaker and her husband Duane of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, Brian Gritzmaker and wife, Nicole, Shelli Underhill and husband, Jason, Eric Pleiman and wife, Stephanie, Jennifer Toland and husband, James; and three great grandchildren, Toby and Jana Underhill and Christopher Gritzmaker. A Memorial Service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2000 S. Lemay, at 11 a.m. on Friday. Pastor Michael Stadtmueller and Pastor Tim Stadem will officiate at the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, Colo. 80524.
