Moses B. Valdez, 67, of Fort Collins died March 10, 2008, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mr. Valdez was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Walsenburg to James Valdez Sr. and Sadie Martinez Valdez. Moses moved to Fort Collins with his family when he was 3 days old. Moses married Carmen M. Trujillo on May 29, 1976, in Fort Collins. He was a truck driver for Norton Feed Service for many years. He also was a crossing guard for Poudre School District for four years. He enjoyed restoring cars, fishing, camping and spending time teasing and taking care of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Carmen M. Valdez of Fort Collins; four children, Janice Daniel Baca, Ernie Valdez, Tony Valdez and Lisa Rodriquez, all of Fort Collins; five stepchildren, Maxine Gary Harper Faulkner, Michael Maestas Annetta, Bonnie Maestas, Rodney Maestas and Chris Maestas Tina, all of Fort Collins; two adopted daughters, Brenda and Shawna Valdez of Fort Collins; two brothers, Donald Valdez of Stockton, Calif., Ernest Valdez of Westminster; a sister, Barbara Cruz of Thornton; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding Moses in death are his father, James Valdez Sr.; his mother, Sadie Hubbard; his stepfather, Ronald Hubbard; and three brothers, James Valdez Jr., Rudy Valdez and Felix Valdez. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Road. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mr. Valdez from noon to 7 p.m. today at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
