Miriam Ruth Johnson, 74, of Fort Collins, died January 1, 2015 at home.
Mrs. Johnson was born December 22, 1940 in Plainview, Nebraska to Martin and Mildred Volk.
Miriam attended Concordia College and taught at Bynum, Montana, Mankato, Minnesota, Fort Collins and San Antonio, Texas. Miriam was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, baking, and being "Grammy." She was also a very talented musician and seamstress.
Survivors include her children, Monica (Stacy), Schulz Mike Johnson, and Marci (Derek) Smith; siblings, Carol Wacker, David (Sheryl) Volk, and August Volk; grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew Schulz and Logan, Landon and Gracie Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fort Collins Senior Center or the First Presbyterian Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlenderfuneralchapel.com.
