Milo L. Flagel of Fort Collins died peacefully at his home May 30. He was the beloved husband of Paula M. Flagel, his wife of 38 years. His also is survived by a daughter, Katrina Helen Placer, and her husband, Robert of Trenton, N.J.; and a daughter, Emily Robin Gouldey, and her husband, Andrew of Fort Collins, and their two children, Lauren and Evan Gouldey. Milo's parents and his brother, Stanley preceded him in death. Surviving are his brothers, Jerry and his wife, Joanne, Jim and his wife, Janet, Ed and his wife, Marlene; sister, Shirley, and her husband, Mike; and 12 nieces and nephews. Milo was born in Leavenworth, Wash., on Dec. 18, 1935, to John and Elsie Flagel. He grew up in Cashmere, Wash., and graduated from Cashmere High School. Milo had his own TV repair shop in Cashmere for several years. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years as an aviation electronics technician. Milo earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology from Capitol Institute of Technology in Washington, D.C., and in 1972 he earned his BSEE from George Washington University. Milo worked as an electrical engineer for TRW until his retirement on disability in 1993. He and his wife, Paula, raised their two daughters in Herndon, Va., where they were active members of Christ the Redeemer Church in Sterling. In 2006, Milo and Paula moved to Fort Collins. It was very important to Milo to spend his last years with his beloved grandchildren, and they were a great comfort to him. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
