Mildred Schram Schulz
September 26, 1928 to July 30, 2022

Mildred Schram Schulz, 93, formerly of Tulsa, OK, passed away on July 30, 2022, in Fort Collins, CO.

Millie was born on September 26, 1928, near Lawton, OK to Mabel Lee (McMinimy) and Emil John Schram. She attended the first eight years of school at the local one-room schoolhouse and then graduated at the age of 15 from Lawton High School. She spent her childhood on the family farm east of Lawton with her loving parents and three brothers. She fondly remembered wading and playing in the buffalo wallows in the pasture near their farmhouse after rains. She was not as fond of the memories of feeding the chickens and canning the fruit from their orchard.

Millie received a biology degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1947. She was the third generation of women from her family to graduate from college - her mother and grandmother Mary Randall McMinimy were also college graduates. After her graduation from OBU, Millie began teaching at Lawton Junior High. While taking summer classes at Oklahoma University, she met her future husband and the love of her life, Bob Schulz, at a school dance. On November 22, 1951, Bob and Millie were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman, OK. Over the next ten years they had five children.

Bob's career as an engineer in the oil and gas industry kept them moving frequently for the first twenty-three years of their married live. Wherever they lived, Millie was busy raising their children, substitute teaching, and volunteering. Millie always said that she enjoyed moving because she liked change. After living in many towns across Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Louisiana, Bob and Millie moved to Tulsa, OK where they lived for over 40 years. Five years ago they moved to Fort Collins, CO.

Millie loved a good book, playing bridge with friends, vacationing with family, and decorating her family's homes. She volunteered in the St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop for 30 years and at Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa as a docent. Millie was also a realtor in Tulsa.

Millie is survived by her loving husband of almost 71 years, Bob; and their children Mark Schulz, Linda Lakich (John), Karen Graham (John), Carmel Fisk (Dan), and Grant Schulz (Tamara). She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren Byron Cox, Melanie Gutierrez, Heather Ortega; Matthew Lakich, Ryan Lakich; Nikki Baker, Austen Graham; Becca Hoffman, Maddie Monaghan, Emily Fisk; and Peyton Schulz; and eleven great grandchildren.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers - John, Donald, and Eddie; and by her daughter-in-law Linda Schulz.

A family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Millie's honor to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, https://givenow.lls.org , or mailed in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins CO 80524.
