Mildred Gilbreth

Mildred L. Hartson Gilbreth, 80, of Fort Collins passed away July 24th, in Poudre Valley Hospital after a fall injuring her head. "Milly" was born Oct. 12, 1927, and raised in Pampa, Texas, except for a short move to Big Piney, Wyo., while in high school. She married Oma K. Gilbreth, Jr. on Sept. 12, 1946, in Gainsville, Texas. They lived in Texas, New Mexico, and Alaska for 27 years before moving to Fort Collins in 1994. Mildred was the kindest and most generous humble person. She expected nothing in return and never had an enemy. She loved her family, dogs, flowers and wild birds. She enjoyed 4-wheeling with the "Top of the World 4-Wheelers" club in Alaska. She could outshoot her husband, "Easy", hunting, come home cook and bake delicious meals. She could do it all-sew clothes, knit, needlepoint, artist, avid reader, and loved crime shows. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and did extensive research on her family tree. Even though she lived a long, full life, she is missed so much. She was preceeded in death by her father, John Hartson; mother, Elner Rabun Hartson; and brother, Cleburn Hartson. She is survived by her husband, "Easy" Gilbreth; son, Oma Kim Gilbreth, III; daughter, Sheila "Hasty" Gilbreth; and four grandchildren, Oma "Pesker" Cheryl Gilbreth IV, Clay, Jamie, and Troy Gilbreth and Milly's sad dog, Fern.
