The family and friends of Mildred Brunswig-Allen will celebrate her life at a Memorial Service on Friday, 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover at Elizabeth. She was born February 10, 1915 in Illinois. Throughout her life she enjoyed enlarging her circle of friends of all ages and maintaining old friendship. Friendships sustained her involvement in a wealth of activities. She worked for the Tennessee Valley authority in Knoxville, Tennessee and for DuPont in New York City. She spent many years in retail in Kansas and Colorado. She was in the furniture business in Fort Collins as a partner in Rick's Furniture and also an owner in Fossil Creek Galleries which was later occupied by La-Z-Boy Galleries. She spent many years as a youth counselor in Kansas at the United Methodist Church and was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years in Kansas. She was very active in the United Methodist Church until her health declined She was married to Harold Allen and divorced. Later she married Sam Brunswig who is now deceased. She then remarried Harold Allen who is now deceased as well. She adored her children, step-children, grand children and step-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Brett Allen; daughter, Linda Nelson; grandsons, Gregg Nelson, Bartt Allen, and Travis Allen; granddaughters, Kimberly Nelson, and Courtney Allen; stepsons, Charles Brunswig, Ron Brunswig; stepdaughters, Raquel Brunswig, and Connie Brunswig; step grandsons, Michael Brunswig, Paul Brunswig, Carl Brunswig, Scott Brunswig, and Jeffrey Brunswig; step granddaughters, Jodi Kidneigh, Lori Kidneigh; four great grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. Mildred is remembered as someone who loved to laugh, enjoyed her life and did not hesitate to profess herself as a Christian.
