Michael Wharton of Loveland passed away at home on the morning of July 26th 2018 just one day shy of his 37th birthday.
Born in Casper Wyoming on July 27th, 1981 to Rhonda (Chamberlain) Ryan. Michael spent his early childhood in Rock Springs Wyoming. As a teen, his family relocated to Longmont, Colorado where Michael finished his education.
In his early 20s Mike was diagnosed with a genetic kidney disorder and spent much of the next few years in and out of the hospital. Mike was given a second chance at life through a living kidney donation. This generous gift allowed Mike the opportunity to return to a normal life and on August 9th, 2008, Michael was united in marriage to Amber (Mattivi).
Michael enjoyed working on cars and spent a great deal of his time collecting and customizing them. He was always happy to use his vast mechanical knowledge to help friends having car problems. Michael was a huge fan of auto racing, rarely missing a NASCAR event on T.V. He and his wife frequently attended the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb and Colorado National Speedway, something they both enjoyed very much.
Michael's health again began to fail and over the last few years it became increasingly difficult for him to enjoy such a physically demanding hobby or spend time with friends. On the morning of July 26th 2018, Mike was loosed of the physical bonds and limitations his declining physical health had put on him.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Amber Wharton, his brother, Marcial Evertsen, and his two beloved beagles, Daisy and Chloey. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda and grandmother Hazel Krantz.
Michael and Amber spent a great deal of time together in the small mountain town of Ouray, Colorado. His ashes will be spread there.
A celebration of life will be held at Summitview Church in Fort Collins on Friday, August 3rd, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
