Michael James Poorman passed away on July 15, 2021 at the age of 68. Despite the challenges of his battle with dementia, Michael came out a hero, stayed strong to the very end. He met the love of his life, Patricia, while serviing with the United States Army, (11/02/72 – 10/24/75) in Stuttgart, Germany. Together they had two children, Kim and Megan.
Michael was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and retired from the Postal Service after 28 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family as well as the beauty of the great outdoors, exploring hiking trails and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughter Kim Wood(Matt), grandchildren Madisen Wood, Raeghan Gale, Piper Wood, Grayson Wood and great granddaughter Teagan Kinnaird, brother Kenneth Poorman(Sue) and son-in-law Chris Ryan. He is preceeded in death by his daughter Megan Ryan, parents Wayne and Joann Poorman, brother Wayne(Randy) Poorman and sister Gloria (Sue) Poorman .
A celebration of life is scheduled starting at 12pm on July 22 at 320 Pinto Court, Wellington, CO 80549. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the following organizations. Dementia Together or Alzheimer Association
