Michael August Millheiser, of Cheyenne passed away at Pathways Inpatient Hospice at the age of 70. Michael was born May 22, 1945 in New York to Simon Millheiser and Margaret Hanlon.
Michael served in the USO as a musician, studied at Juilliard playing the trumpet. Music was always a strong passion throughout his life, having performed in multiple bands, but perhaps best known as guitar player and vocalist for the Hard Times Blues Band.
Life took him all over the US, from New York, Connecticut, Wyoming, Arizona, Maine to name a few states.
Later in life he also did a lot of work with the Praise Band with First United in Cheyenne, and helped teach a bible class, and other church related activities.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brother, Danny Millheiser of NY; sons, Michael Millheiser of NY, Sam Millheiser of NY, Jedediah Millheiser of WY, and his daughter, Deborah Millheiser of GA, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life event is planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016 at First United Methodist, 108 E 18th St., Cheyenne, WY. Family welcomes all who have been a part of Michael's musical family and church family. A secondary reception is tentatively planned as well, but further details will be announced soon.
