A proud brother, husband, father, papa, and friend passed away at the age of 78 in Loveland, CO on October 7, 2024.
He was born in Fort Collins in 1946 to Bill and Shirley Goff. Mike graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1964. After high school, he attended Casper Junior College on a basketball scholarship. He was then drafted by the Army and served with an infantry unit in Germany from 1966 through 1968. After his tour of duty, a good friend named Vic Kline changed Mike's life forever. Mike was hired by Vic to be his Assistant Golf Pro at Indian Tree Golf Course in Arvada, CO. During his career as a PGA Golf Professional, he had the opportunity to serve as the Head Golf Pro at Hiwan GC (Evergreen, CO), Meridian GC (Englewood, CO), and Meadowbrook GC (Rapid City, SD). He then finished his golf career at City Park Nine (Fort Collins, CO).
Mike married Margaret (Maggie) Ann (Neuharth) Goff in 1975. Together, they became loving parents to their daughter, Kara (Goff) Sample in 1979. They will dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them. Among them was his encouragement to stay positive, keep their chins up, and always have a smile on their faces.
Life is a circle. Mike gracefully closed his circle and is now enjoying the fairways in heaven.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Shirley Goff; and sister, Mary Ditzel. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Maggie; his daughter Kara (Cory) Sample; his granddaughter Kadence; his sister Mindy (Phil) Zscheile; two nieces (Jennifer Jackson and Holly Fosdick); and one nephew (Brent Fosdick). Survivors also include other close-knit extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will take place at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins, CO on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM (MST). In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Brain Research Foundation by going to
