Michael D. "Frank" Barella

Michael D. Barella, known to all his family and friends as 'Frank', passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 surrounded by friends and family. Frank was born on January 16, 1954 in Fort Collins to Tony and Viola Barella. His parents preceded him in death. Frank graduated from Poudre High School. He served in the US Army & National Guard for 6 years where he trained as a sharpshooter. Frank ran his own business for many years, Rocky Mountain Moving & Landscaping and enjoyed landscaping many homes in the Fort Collins area. He had a true passion for the outdoors where he spent many hours hunting and fishing. Frank's most cherished moments were spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his 3 children: Daniel Barella, Michelle Iannacone, and Valerie Venter; 5 grandchildren: Taylor, Avery, Coltyn, Talia, and Lexi; 6 brothers and sisters: Melvin, Dale, Eddie, Louise, Toby, and Mark. Two brothers, Anthony and Claude preceded him in death. Frank also left behind Jan Mowery who he was married to for 28 years and a special friend, Karen Spencer. A Rosary will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard.
