Michael Eugene Doak was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on August 24, 1958. Michael was a brick mason, who for many years owned his own business and built quite a reputation for his artistry with brick. Michael's passions were his motorcycle, travel, and his best friend and loyal companion, Butch. Butch is part human and part cat and was always in Mike's arms. They spoke language of love that was almost sacred to watch. Throughout his life, Michael loved to travel and enjoyed relating his experiences and the beautiful sights of nature he had encountered. He loved the mountains and the ocean equally, and spent time in many states of the USA as well as in Mexico. Michael loved children and animals and they all loved him. He often remarked that he liked dogs and cats much better than people, as their love was unconditional. Michael was preceded in death by his father and elder brother, James. Left to mourn our loss are Phillip, Gloria, Jeffrey and Katherine; Robert, Carol, Shannon and Mathew; Tamara, Palden and Kesang; and mother Jean. A memorial service will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 3920 S. Shields Street.
