Merrilyn ( Dolly) J. McDonald, 81, of Fort Collins passed away in her home with her family by her side, on December 27, 2015. She is now in the presence of her LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
Dolly was born on July 28, 1934 in Veblen, South Dakota. She was the 6th child out of 8 to her mother, Margaret Anderson, who later married her step father, Einar Nielsen. She moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where she met and married Newton E McDonald on April 22, 1956. Together they had 3 children, Gregg McDonald of Idaho, Therese Leydens of Greeley, and Laura Holden of Ft. Collins. She has 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Dolly worked and retired from Qwest (previously Mountain Bell) she started as a switchboard operator and went to school for other positions, but the last position she had was in the Repair department.
Dolly enjoyed camping and traveling, decorating, working in her yard, trying her hand at painting, spending time with her friends at Bible Study at Rez and spending time with her family.
The funeral will be held at Resurrection Fellowship 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd, Loveland. CO 80538 on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 12:00 pm – 3:00pm
