Melvin R. Masters

Melvin R. Masters, 73, of Fort Collins, died December 4, 2011 at a local nursing home. Mr. Masters was born September 30, 1938 in Norwood, Ohio to Ovia and Della Wilson Masters. Melvin married Colleen Nichols on September 30, 1961 in Fort Collins. Mr. Masters served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He loved visiting with relatives. Survivors include his wife, Colleen; sons, Travis and Rodney both of Fort Collins; daughter, Sherl Johnson of Greeley; two grandsons, Tyler Simmons of Laporte and Keith Brown of Boise, Idaho; siblings, Jewel Mills of Loveland, Ohio, Betty Schneider and Ruth Craft both of Fort Collins, Lois Dresser of Phoenix, Arizona, John Masters of Windsor, Rose Lamb of Arvada, Charles Masters of Loveland, Claudia Ping of Burlington, Iowa, Linda Erickson of Arvada, Sandra Langren of Greeley, and Lloyd Masters of Laporte; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Melvin in death are his parents; two brothers, Ronald and Clyde; and two sisters, Edna and Wilma. A Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
