Melvin "Mel" Eugene Johnson passed away January 30, 2011 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born December 15, 1921 to Z. Myrtle and Irven Johnson in Savonburg, Kansas. Mel married Olivia Hansen on August 31, 1941. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp in WWII and retired from the Federal Government in Denver with the U.S. Geological Survey. Survivors include his wife, Olivia of 69 years; one son, Lindsay of Fort Collins, Colorado; one grandson, and one great grandson of Apache Junction, Arizona.
A daughter, Lexie preceded him in death. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Evergreen, Colorado. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
