Megan A. Ryan, age 31, passed away peacefully at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO on Thursday, 6 July, after undergoing two emergency heart surgeries.
As a human being, we realize death is a natural thing that happens when we reach our personal finish line in the marathon of life we all run. We know it is there, waiting to embrace us at the finish line and take us to our own personal Winner's Circle.
The most difficult part about accepting one's own mortality is realizing that it doesn't care about how good of a person we are, how much we are loved by those around us, or how much joy and happiness we bring into the lives of others. Death is cruel and unfair, at times, taking away people who still have so much more of their marathon to run. In shortening that race, Death leaves an emptiness in the hearts and souls of those left behind.
Megan was a fighter, full of life and a spark plug of energy. Losing her light will make the rest of the marathons of those who loved and cherished her a little darker and colder.
She warmed our hearts, our lives and we are all forever grateful to have her as part of our family. We will miss her, continue to love her, and cherish the memories of the unique soul she is and will never forget her.
Megan is survived by her loving husband Chris Ryan; Mother and Father, Patty and Mike Poorman; Sister, Kim Wood (Matt); In-Laws, Sybil and Jeff Ryan; Nieces, Madisen, Raeghan and Piper; Nephew, Grayson and many other family members.
Celebration-of-Life Ceremony will be held at Foundations Church, 1380 Denver Ave, Loveland from 4-6 pm on Friday, 14 July. This will be a potluck gathering.
