Maxine Snook, 87 of Ft. Collins went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2009, after a brief illness. She was born November 27, 1921 in Wellington, Colorado to William B. and Beulah Swallow Powers. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1939 and attended Business College in Denver. After that, she worked at Lowry Air Force Base where she met and married Robert R. Snook, who became a career Air Force Officer. As a homemaker she raised her three children while frequently moving during his career including Colorado, California, Illinois, Delaware, Germany, Mississippi, and Massachusetts. Upon her husband's retirement from the Air Force they moved back to Ft. Collins in 1971. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was a tremendous witness of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to her family, friends, and neighbors. She is survived by her brother, Keith Powers of Wellington; a sister, Velva Marcus of Aurora, Colorado; two sons Robert Carolyn of Ft. Collins and Larry Lynne of Burlington, Massachusetts; a daughter, Deborah Ted Phillips of Rye, Colorado, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held, 10 a.m., Tuesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mrs. Snook from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Pastor Tom Heflin of the Riviera Baptist church, Bullhead City, Arizona will officiate at the services.
