Mary Weiss

Mary Weiss joined her husband, Karl, in eternal life on Aug. 13, 2007, at Columbine Care Center East after a lengthy illness. Mary was born to Marion and Olive Shetenhelm Corey on Oct. 6, 1924, in Vermontville, Mich. Mary married Karl G. Weiss on May 23, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1993. Mary and Karl had no children. She is survived by a nephew, Roger Corey, and was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Corey Jr. She is survived by cousins and a host of friends. She has several godchildren. Mary and Karl farmed for many years in Weld County. Mary also was a nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital. She belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church, the Observatory Club and the Nurses' Association. Mary was known for her watercolor paintings all over the Fort Collins area and also was active in music. Mary will be sorely missed by family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, the Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Elizabeth St. Cremation will take place after the church services. Those who desire may view Mary at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
