Mary Rose Stretton

Mary Rose Stretton of Fort Collins, Colorado, died on September 8, 2015. She was born on February 20, 1932 in Racine, Wisconsin to her mother, Ella Jilek Kaplan and father, Rudolph Kaplan. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1952 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and worked for several years in the International Division of Johnson's Wax (now S.C. Johnson and Sons) where she met her husband, Francis Stretton. They married in 1960 and had one daughter. The family moved to Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, and finally settled in Colorado in 1971.

Mary enjoyed traveling, literature, hiking, ethnic dancing and painting. She was a published author of many articles and short stores, including a book, "Delicious Memories." She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Stretton, and son-in-law, Stanley Starbuck, who live in Madison, Wisconsin.
