Mary Anne Lockner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born in Spencerport, New York, to Lewis H. Rieflin and Gertrude A. Rieflin, Mary was raised on her family's farm alongside her siblings William L. Rieflin (Kathleen), James W. Rieflin (Beverly), and Lois G. Wright (Stephen). The values of hard work, kindness, and resilience that she learned growing up on the farm stayed with her throughout her life, strengthened by her quiet trust that God was always with her.

In the mid-1970s, Mary moved to Colorado, where she devoted herself to raising her four children: Laurie A. Garcia, Diane M. Lockner (Terrie), William L. Lockner (Jackie), and Julie M. Bohler (Corey). Her deep love for her family was the foundation of her life, and she took immense pride in watching her children build their own families and lives. She often reminded them that God's love surrounded them, a reassurance that brought comfort in both joyful and challenging times.

Mary's love for adventure led her to make her home in many different states, embracing new experiences wherever life took her. She also cherished the chance to travel the world, whether she was soaking in the beauty of the outdoors or discovering new places and cultures, each journey filled her heart with joy.

She was incredibly creative and crafty, and that was at the heart of many of the memories she shared with others. Mary loved making things for people, knitting, sewing, creating handmade gifts, or crafting beautiful home décor. Her hands and heart were always busy, and each gift she created reflected her love and her joy in making others happy. Her creative spirit will be treasured forever by those who received her thoughtful creations.

One of her greatest joys was serving and working at Respite Care, a Northern Colorado nonprofit offering short-term respite for families of children with developmental disabilities. She also treasured her time with Stephen's Ministry and other organizations, where she found deep fulfillment in helping others and lifting spirits with her caring heart and radiant smile.

Her family extended to include six stepchildren, whom she welcomed with open arms and an open heart, adding even more love to her ever-growing family.

Mary was also the loving wife of William D. Donahue, Paul A. Lockner, and Richard W. Burkhartzmeyer, each of whom brought unique joy and companionship into her life.

Mary was the proud grandmother of Nathan, Austin (Brittany), Tanner, Jordan (Abbi), Dylon, Bryan (Sydney), Owen, and Madison, and the cherished great-grandmother of Stella Grace, June, and Tommy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her boundless joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them, often reminding them, as she did everyone, that God was watching over them.

Known for her warm heart, quick smile, and gentle spirit, Mary made friends wherever she went, offering kindness and unwavering loyalty. Her presence was a comfort to many, and her compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered as a woman of strength, love, creativity, and generosity, someone whose faith quietly shaped the way she lived and gave freely of herself. Her legacy of love, service, and trust in God will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado, on October 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

In addition, a memorial service will be held on November 7, 2025 at Dolomite Lodge in Penfield, New York, where all who knew and loved Mary are welcome to join her family in celebrating her remarkable life.
