Mary Yoshiko Matsuda passed away at her home on June 14, 2023. Mary devoted her life to her family, supporting her husband, Mamoru, on their farm and raising her four daughters, Betty, Jane, Iris and Dianna. She was also a loving and generous grandmother to her grandchildren, Daniel, Michelle and Caitlin. To all who knew our mother, she was always known for her generosity, her sweetness and kindness of heart.
Mary was born near Hiroshima, Japan and came to the United States after marrying Mamoru on January 4, 1957. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and managed to take care of the family farm and household with ease. Mary was a natural artist who could sketch beautifully without having any formal art training. We will always remember her quick wit, her smile, the comfort knowing that she was always there for her family and her love for her dog, Mimi.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Jane Matsuda, Iris Matsuda and Dianna Matsuda, and her grandchildren, Daniel Luepschen, Michelle Emery (Andrew Krebs) and Caitlin Fitzsimmons. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mamoru.
A burial service will be held on a date to be determined at a later time.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice.
