Mary Lou Linton, our beloved Aunt, passed away in Fort Collins, CO October 20, 2022.

She was born on May 4, 1929, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Fred and Isabel Linton. Wayne Linton was her older brother.

Mary Lou graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine. She earned her B.A. in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master's in social work at the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Mary Lou began her career as a Policewoman in Madison. She was a field agent for the Wisconsin Division of Corrections in Stevens Point. Her next position was the Director of
Children's Services in Wood County, Wisconsin. She moved to Milwaukee and was a consultant and Unit Supervisor for Milwaukee County. In 1970 she participated in the White House
Conference on Children. She served on the Governor's Advocacy Committee on Children and Youth and The Governor's Council on Business and Education Partnerships. She owned and was the Director of Cedarcrest, Inc. a residential and day treatment program for emotionally disturbed girls. She was also part owner of the Mid-America Antique Center.

Mary Lou enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally, often with her cousin Nancy Slovachek. She enjoyed a neighborhood book club in Milwaukee. She was a Wisconsin Badger fan and Season ticket holder for the Packers.

Mary Lou moved to Fort Collins in 2004 to be closer to her brother and his family. She joined Newcomers, League of Women Voters. She also volunteered at the Larimer County Food Bank, 10,000 Villages and for the Democratic Party. She enjoyed being part of two book clubs and 'Small Change Group'.

Mary Lou's parents and brother preceded her in death. Her nephews Fred Linton and Robert Linton and her niece Ann Linton Scott survive her.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 13, 1:00pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
