Mary T. Jimenez

Mary T. Jimenez, 85 of Ft. Collins died January 23, 2015 at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mary was born June 17, 1929 in Trinidad, Colorado to Manuel Cortez and Mary Basilia "Ortega." On April 25, 1946 Mary married Ben Jimenez in Denver, Colorado. They moved with their young family to Ft. Collins in 1948.

Mary worked at Colorado State University for 20 1/2 years as a custodian, but she will be remembered as being a fabulous homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary was very involved in the Holy Family Altar Rosary Society. She was also very active in the Senior Citizen Advisory Group and was a member of Los Anciaños Unidos.

Survivors include her husband, Ben Jimenez of Ft. Collins; four sons, John, Tom, and Michael Jimenez all of Ft. Collins, and Chris Jimenez of Gladewater, Texas; five daughters, Barbara Swanson and Tina Jimenez both of Loveland, and Kathy Lozano, Dorothy Robertson, and Lucia Robbins all of Ft. Collins; three sisters, Lillian Leister, Stella Tyler, and Linda Grant-Salazar; 39 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents; two children, Mark Jimenez and Theresa Hense; one sister, and three brothers.

Contributions may be made to the Mary T. Jimenez Memorial Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.

A Rosary will be held Thursday, 9:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
