Mary Ellen Dickson, 79, of Loveland, was peacefully called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus on June 20, 2010 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. Mary was born September 15, 1930 in Amhurst, Colorado to Fritz and Anna Brunken Nierman. She married James Jim J. Dickson on June 18, 1950 in Holyoke, Colorado. Mary moved back to Colorado from Lebanon, Illinois in 1967. She was an Office Manager for 37 years at CSU in Housing & Dining Service. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, in Loveland. Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing Pinochle. She especially loved spending time with family and watching her grandchildren and great-grand kids grow. Survivors include her daughters, Lynda Dickson of Loveland; Jean West, husband Chuck of Fort Collins; son, Jay Dickson, wife Sue of Loveland; sister Pat Snyder, husband Phil of Loveland; brother, Rick Nierman, wife Kathy of Denver; five grandchildren, Daniel West, wife Sharlene, Matthew West and Lesa Thompson, Julie Swanson, husband Erik; Melissa Dillon, husband Brian; Michael Dickson and Leah Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Kelsey, Alyssa, Toren, Halle and Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary in death were her infant son James Theodore, parents, a brother Alvin Nierman, husband, and a great-grandson, Wyatt Cade Dillon. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 801 N. Cleveland Ave, Loveland on Wednesday, June 23, at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Judi Taylor will officiate the service. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
