Mary JoAnn Cortez, 68, of Fort Collins, passed away on 06/03/2018 at Poudre Valley Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
JoAnn was born on 04/18/1950 in Rouse, Colorado to Estella Sandoval Espinoza and Patrick Espinoza. JoAnn was a homemaker to her 2 children. She cared for her family very deeply and made sure they were always taken care of. She was an avid fisherwoman, enjoyed traveling, loved bingo, gambling in Blackhawk and arts and crafts. She enjoyed making personal gifts for her family and friends. She loved football and was a diehard Bronco fan. She was always there for her family and friends. She believed in natural healing and would help those in need when she could. JoAnn was devout in her faith and instilled her strong beliefs in her children.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Estella and Patrick, her siblings Jacobo "Jake" Espinoza,
Maclovio Espinoza, Jose Alamito Espinoza, Martha Griego, and daughter Baby Grace.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Estella Figueroa and William Espinoza, both of Fort Collins, her sister Lorraine Lopez of Greeley, special cousin Liz Gutierrez, her cousins, many nieces and nephews and her close friends.
Rosary will be held on Tuesday, 06/12/2018, at 9:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 326 N Whitcomb Street, Fort Collins, Colorado 80521. Funeral Services will be held immediately following the rosary at 10 am. The internment will be in Walsenburg, Colorado on Wednesday, 06/13/2018, at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bohlender Funeral Chapel to assist the family with funeral expenses.
