Mary Ann Clay (Koele) was born December 28, 1937. She died peacefully November 27 surrounded by her loving husband of 67 years, and her family that she loved so much.
When Mary was due to be born, her dad took her mom to his parents' home in Sanborn, Iowa. He was concerned that an Iowa snowstorm would prevent him from getting her to the doctor for Mary's birth. Mary was born in Sanborn, Iowa. Mary grew up on the farm, north of Hartley, Iowa she loved working with the animals.
When attending high school, she met her husband, Gary Lee Clay. They had three daughters, Ronda born in 1955, and twin daughters, Julie and Jeri in 1959. Mary retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 1992. Gary and Mary enjoyed their retirement and spent many winters in Apache Junction, AZ. They were able to travel to all the states in the United States, except Hawaii. Mary's greatest love was being with her family, cooking and baking for them.
Mary left this life knowing she led a life full of many blessings. God was good to her and her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Gary, and daughters, Ronda and her husband John Ogden of College Station, TX, Julie and her husband Carl of Windsor, CO, and Jeri and her husband Greg, of Windsor, CO. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and sister, Iva.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild, a sister, 3 brothers in laws, and 2 sister in laws.
