Mary Ann Martin

Mary Ann Martin, 67, of Fort Collins, passed away Dec. 21, 2008 at home. She was born Aug. 21, 1941 to Alex and Mary Martin in Fort Collins. She married Bill R. Martin on Nov. 21, 1977 and shared 31 happy years together. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dick. She is survived by her husband, Bill; and step children, Brad and Holly Martin of Round Rock, Texas, Bret and Janet Martin of Thornton, Brenda Martin and Doug Grant of Fort Collins, Blain and Debbie Martin of Eagle, Idaho. She is also survived by her brother, Larry and Peggy Martin of Loveland and her nephews, Kevin and Becky Martin of Omaha, Neb., Eric Martin of Loveland, and Chris and Debra sp Martin of Loveland, Roger Winfrey of Fort Collins and niece Rhonda and Dee Michael Castenada of Fort Collins; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. After graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1958, Mary Ann lived briefly on the west coast but soon missed her family and returned to Fort Collins. She began working at Colorado State University in 1967. She retired from the University in 2001 and settled down to a quiet life with Billy. As sometimes fate would have it, her life was not to be so uneventful. Mary Ann contracted several challenging medical conditions which she endured with grace and a preservation of spirit that would make an angel smile. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Home 121 West Olive Street, Fort Collins, on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Limb Preservation Foundation in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
