Marwin Frederick Simpson, born October 1935, passed away March 15, 2025, at his home with his family around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Florence Simpson and his youngest son Jeff Leland Simpson.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his daughter Linn and son Scott and his wife Beth . He leaves behind four grandsons, Justin, Leland, Eric, and Morgan, and four granddaughters Deidra, Kacie, Corey and Megan as well as seven great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Cheney High School, he attended two years of college at Kansas University and Wichita State University. He enlisted in the Air National Guard out of Wichita, KS.
Marv married his high school sweetheart, Mary, and they settled down on Cedarvale Farm, near Norwich, KS., where they raised three children and cultivated crops and cattle.
Marv was a faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a deacon in the church and they were very involved in Lay Witness Mission. He obtained a private pilot's license. And became a certified welder at Tulsa School of Welding.
In 1977 they moved to Ft. Collins, CO., where he started Marv's Welding Service and worked doing steel construction and odd jobs. He also taught welding at Ft. Collins Vo-Tech School.
They went to Tiblisi, Georgia, a free republic of Russia, in 1992 to teach English as a second language using the Bible as their textbooks. He oversaw the Bible study and discipline while Mary taught language. When they returned a year later, he continued to work as a welder making soccer goals for Ft. Collins Park and Rec and replacing handrails at the Denver Wastewater Treatment Facility, among other things.
To the grandchildren he was "Pap". Every year they looked forward to helping Gram and Pap plant the garden and spending quality time with him. He was always teaching, whether his own children or those in the neighborhood. The grandkids and great grandkids would often ring the doorbell, "Can Pap come out to play?" I think most will agree when they talk of Marv it's always how much they learned from him and that he was a Godly man.
We celebrate that Marv, Uncle Marwin, Pap, Daddy is resting in heaven with God and the Saints.
A memorial service will be held 1pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
