Martin Phillip Mata, 63, of Fort Collins, died October 20, 2011 at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mr. Mata was born July 29, 1948 in Fort Collins to Abelardo H and Fabiana Mata. Martin lived in Fort Collins all of his life. He served his country in the U. S. Navy. He worked for the City of Fort Collins as a maintenance technician. Martin enjoyed fishing, sports and loved family gatherings. Survivors include his siblings, Jacinta Gonzales, Manuelita Orona, Josephine E. Mata, Stephen A. Mata all of Fort Collins, Juanita Fresques of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Carmen Walker, Dolores Mata also both of Fort Collins; and Martin was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Martin in death are his parents; and his sisters, Julia and Rosemary Mata. A Rosary Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Monday at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment with Military Honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
