Martha Ortiz

January 3, 1944 — January 21, 2018

Listen to Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Martha Ortiz announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer, on January 21, 2018. Our beloved mother was born on January 3, 1944 in Kimball, NE. She was the sixth child of 15 and the sixth in passing.

Martha married her soulmate, Raymond, in Fort Collins and had four children, Gene, Geralyn, Jessica and Ray; followed by grandchildren, Diana, Jolene, Raymond, David, Jared, Jacob and Adam. She also had three great grandchildren, Lily, Gracie and Gianna.
Mom is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, one brother, eight sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed sewing, going on hikes, walks and spending time with family and friends. Her life was one of servitude; she was a bilingual teacher's aide at Laporte Elementary and loved her students. Later she dedicated herself to Home HealthCare assisting those in need.

We will miss her laughter and wonderful sense of humor. We will miss her inner light and that sparkle in her eye. You will always live in our hearts as we carry your sacred legacy into this circle called life.
