Martha Blehm Ahlbrandt, 94, of Fort Collins died August 13, 2009 at Spring Creek Health Care. Mrs. Ahlbrandt was born April 20, 1915 in Fort Collins to Henry Blehm, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Schwien Blehm. Martha's childhood was spent on the family farm in the 1000 block of Lemay. She attended Fort Collins schools, including the old Fort Collins High School. She married Charles E. Ahlbrandt in Fort Collins on October 6, 1935, and together they raised two daughters and a son, all born in Fort Collins. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a laundress, waitress, housekeeper, and nanny. She was a life-long member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Mrs. Ahlbrandt was preceded in death by her husband, brothers; two of whom were named Edward, Henry, John, William, and Delbert and one sister, Mary Deines. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Ahlbrandt-Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Janet Haferman Leonard and son Charles D. Ahlbrandt Kathy. She Granny is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous beloved family members and friends. Family and friends may visit between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, August 19 and 20 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1200 S. Taft Hill Road, Fort Collins.
