In Loving Memory of Marsha Gay Effner

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Marsha Gay Effner, who left us on September 24, 2024. The daughter of Eugene Blaine and Mary Louise (Marshall) Sparks; Marsha led a life full of love, compassion, and dedication that touched the hearts of many.
A Life Well Lived
Marsha was renowned for her exceptional character and unwavering commitment to family, friends, and community. She was a lifelong resident of Colorado growing up in Denver and graduating from East High School. After attending Colorado State University, she made the greater Fort Collins area her home of more than 65 years.
Marsha married Lee Effner on March 17th, 1957, and was mother to Michael Lee Effner and Scott Allen Effner. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Paige Danielle Muller (Ryan) and Jordan Leigh Effner as well as daughter in-laws Allison Paige Effner and Susan Ann Wyman who will forever hold her memory dear. A lifelong dog lover, her little guy, Gizmo, will miss his mom.
As her children grew up Marsha was able to realize her professional goals in Human Resources as the Employee Development Officer for the Platte River Power Authority. Additionally, she volunteered her time to numerous organizations with a focus on crisis mediation for at risk individuals. One of her passions was being an adult literacy tutor for over 30 years.
Marsha was a master bridge player, which she pursued with great enthusiasm. Traveling extensively across the United States to attend tournaments over the years, she developed many lifelong friendships across the competitive bridge community.
Funeral Arrangements
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel (121 W Olive St, Fort Collins, CO 80524).
In this time of grief, we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Marsha. She will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide us.
