Marlene Scarbrough, 74, of Loveland, died March 1, 2006, in the Hospice Unit at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Marlene was born Oct. 3, 1931, in McCauley, Texas, to Willard Wilhoit and Carmie Hale Wilhoit. Marlene married Jesse Wayne Scarbrough on May 27, 1950, in Archer City, Texas. She lived most of her life in Texas. Marlene and Wayne moved in 1987 to Estes Park, then moved to Loveland in June 2005. She was a homemaker, a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and Estes Park Church of Christ since 1987. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking, canning and was a pillar of strength to her family. Mrs. Scarbrough is survived by her husband, Jesse Wayne Scarbrough, of Loveland; two sons, Bud Scarbrough, of Livermore, and David Scarbrough, of Estes Park; a daughter, Mary Rodriguez, of Loveland; two grandchildren, Alice and Brian; two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Kaitlin, all of Colorado; four sisters and two brothers, and all of MarleneGÇÖs extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The Rev. Dale Dowling will be officiating at the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Mountain States ChildrenGÇÖs Home in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
