Mark Conklin, 49, of Wellington, Colorado, passed away in his sleep on Friday, March 3, 2023.
He was born February 11, 1974, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, to Leo Conklin and Cynthia (Waldo) Conklin. Mark graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1992, where he was involved in football, baseball and golf. He attended CSU and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Mark worked in sales and marketing and loved that he was able to travel all over the world.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, hunting, cooking, farming, woodworking, watching sports, traveling, reading, golfing, and especially making his mom laugh. He was very creative and spent time welding, drawing, writing poetry, and creating metal art. Though he struggled every day, his faith in God was the most important thing in his life.
He recently started working as a kitchen manager at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission feeding the homeless. He had a special place in his heart for those who were struggling and it was a great joy to him to be able to give back to the community.
Mark is survived by his mother, Cynthia (Waldo) Conklin, his sister Melissa Lurkins (Joel), his brother Matt Conklin (Becca), his niece and nephews (Rylee Conklin, Josh Lurkins, Ryan Lurkins, Wes Conklin), and his beloved dog, Lola. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Conklin.
Mark's mom, sister and brother would like to thank their wonderful family and friends for all of the food, hugs, memories, and love they have shown them.
A memorial will be held at Timberline Church on Thursday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m. You may also watch the livestream of Mark's memorial at

God is always faithful
I am greatly blessed
I need for nothing
I fear nothing
I love God with my whole heart
I love my neighbor as myself
I will encourage others and help others
I live in God's peace
Today, I will serve the Lord!
