Marie M. Irvin died July 11, 2015 at PVH in Fort Collins. Marie was born Feb, 23 1930 in Durango to Andrew and Marie Hutton.
The family moved around Colorado until they settled in Fort Collins, where she graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1948. In 1950 she married Howard "Cork" Irvin and moved to San Francisco while he served in the U.S. Navy. While in San Francisco they had two children, Patrick and Kathleen. They returned to Arvada in 1959 where Marie worked for Capital Federal Savings. After the children graduated from high school they moved to Golden, and Marie worked as a secretary at Rocky Flats Plant. She retired in 1990 and moved to Kremmling where they built their dream home. They traveled in winters to Florida and in later years, Arizona. After selling their home in Kremmling, they settled in Cedaredge in 2004. Her husband died in 2008 and Marie moved back to Fort Collins in 2011 where she lived with her nephew, Mike and his wife, Nita. Once she was nurtured back to health she bought her own home in a retirement community in Fort Collins.
She loved ceramics, beaded calendars, crewel embroidery, puzzles, Broncos game days screaming with Nita and critiquing TV's Dancing with the Stars with her "little sister" Cathy.
Marie was preceded in death by brothers, Bud and Dick; husband, Howard; and daughter, Kathleen. Marie is survived by her brother, Bob; son, Pat; four grandchildren, Jason, Brandi, Bill Thomas, Mary; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 12735 W. 58th Ave., Arvada.
