Marie Hulbert passed away from complications due to Parkinson's Disease on February 12, 2010. Marie was born March 27, 1933 in Boulder to Clarence and Marie "Chapp" James. She grew up in Fort Collins, and was a 1951 graduate of Fort Collins High School, where she enjoyed attending reunions and homecoming events. Marie and her husband of 56 years, Keith, were married on February 13, 1954! Together they loved to camp, fish, and travel. Marie also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting for her family and friends. She refused to let her illness interfere with her passion for crocheting. In 1995, she retired from her job at Beaver's Market, at the corner of Mountain and Shields, where she loved taking care of her customers. Marie spent the past five years at the Columbine West Health and Rehab Facility, where she remained active, serving twice as Resident Council President and a member of the Wii bowling team. Marie is survived by her husband Keith, of the family home, her daughter, Rae Timme John of Pueblo West; granddaughters, Tracee Bentley Mike Waters of Severance, Lacee Glaser Jeremy Baughman of Loveland, Jennifer, Hannah, and Emily Fulton of Denver; grandson, Kirtlan Lewis Karen of Lemoore, California, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Victor and Joe, and a daughter, Linda. Marie's family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Poudre Valley Hospital for the wonderful care that Marie was given during her many stays there, and to Pathways Hospice for the comfort and support that they provided. Most of all, the family would like to say thank you to Marie's family and friends at Columbine West. They want them to know that Marie loved them as much as they loved her. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Contributions may be made the Columbine West Health and Rehab in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
