Marguerite May Niswender was born April 1, 1921, in Saginaw, Mo., to Clyde and Mary McConnell. Marguerite passed away at Poudre Valley Hospital on March 19, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard; husband, Cecil; and her daughter, Lynn. Marguerite had four children, Lynn Niswender, Ed and Ken Niswender twin brothers, and Sherry Kettle. She had seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Marguerite grew up in several cities including Saginaw, Joplin, and Webb City, Mo.; Corpus Christi, Texas; Stone City, Pueblo, and Fort Collins. Marguerite's childhood consisted of swimming holes, roller skating, horse riding, fun family picnics, and the family gathering around the radio listening to "The Shadow" and "Amos and Andy." Her grandmother took her to church, and at the age of twelve she became a Christian. She remained active in church all her life, and she was a charter member of Mountain Range Church. She met and married Cecil Niswender in December 1940. They were married for forty years. She devoted herself to raising her children then she served as Director of Medical Records at North Eventide for sixteen years. Later in life she served as a "Nanny" to the Keller family. Marguerite enjoyed picnicking on the Poudre River, playing "Wa-Hoo" and other games with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, and friend. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, at Grandview Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain Range Church, 3601 S. Shields. Contributions may be made to the Mountain Range Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
