Margarete Emslie Busch of Fort Collins, died Aug. 18, 2008, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Busch was born July 3, 1914, in Fort Collins to James Emslie and Sarah Rose Neumeyer Emslie. Margarete majored in Economics and Sociology at Colorado A&M, graduating in June of 1937. She was the secretary of her class, a member of the Council of Associated Women Students, a member of Beta Phi Alpha Sorority and Delta Zeta Sorority. She attended Barnes Business School and was later employed at First National Bank in Fort Collins. She was active in the Eastern Star and other women's organizations. Margarete married Harold E. Busch on Oct. 15, 1938, in Denver. Margarete and Harold moved to Estes Park after Harold's retirement in 1968. They enjoyed traveling and winters in Arizona. In 1994, they returned to Fort Collins. Survivors include her son, Jerry Busch of Centenniel; a daughter, Janet Clodfelder of Fort Collins; three grandchildren, Carin Clay, Kellan Busch, and Clay Busch and two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Steven Batt. Preceding Margarete in death are her parents, husband, and two brothers, James and Bill Emslie, and a grandchild, Curt Vetter. A private family service will be held at a later date in Estes Park.
