Margaret Sokoloski, 86, died July 17, 2005, in Fort Collins. Margaret Ilene Sokoloski was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Beach, N.D., the daughter of Odie Holmberg and Beldon Roberts. She graduated from Beach High School. She married Walter Sokoloski on March 22, 1938, in Glendive, Mont., and the couple made their home in Hamilton, Mont. They were later divorced. Margaret was involved in many civic organizations in Hamilton and was a member of United Methodist Federated Church. A very social person, she especially enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. In 2004, she moved to Colorado to be closer to her son and his wife. While living in Fort Collins, she enjoyed participating at the Bellvue Senior Center and Foothills Unitarian Church. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Walter. She is survived by her son, Leonard Sokoloski and wife, Cherry; four grandchildren and spouses, Allan and Debbie Gill, Carri and Jim Ellison, Michelle and Darrin Maxwell and R.J. Sokoloski; four great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Ioune and Marvin Snyder; and a close cousin, Clarice Sis Kukowski. A memorial service will be held in Hamilton on Aug. 1. The family encourages memorial gifts to the American Legion Auxiliary in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
