Margaret Gillespie Reid

Margaret Elizabeth Gillespie Reid, 91, of Fort Collins, CO, formerly of Richmond, VA, Washington, DC, Dayton, OH, and Lincoln County, NM died on December 1, 2016, at home with her daughter, Carol J. Denne and son-in-law Arthur Chris Denne, with whom she had lived for 27 years.

Margaret had a long and loving life raising alone her three children, including Carol and fraternal twins Elizabeth and Lawrence Reid, while pursuing a successful career as a department manager and buyer of fine fashions for the two largest department stores in Richmond.

She is survived by her three children, grandchildren Kevin, Christopher, Freya, Amy, David, Jason and Sara, and ten great grandchildren.

During her eleven years in Fort Collins she was very active in the First Presbyterian Church and the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO), Chapter EB, to which she devoted many, many hours.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Collins at 1:30 p.m. on December 28, 2016. Interment will follow later in Richmond, VA.
