Mabel S. Dowse

Mabel S. Dowse, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2009 at New Mercer Commons. Born in Gilcrest in February of 1917, Mrs. Dowse was the daughter of Lilly and Robert Stewart and during her lifetime, her years were spent in Gilcrest, Greeley, Eaton and Fort Collins. She was the wife of the late Bill Dowse, and she was predeceased by her first husband, Julian Dunn; two brothers, John Stewart and Jim Stewart; three sisters, Helen Fox, Henrietta Nicks and Virginia Howell; and surviving niece, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. The focus of her life was her devotion to her family and friends whom she loved. She enjoyed cooking, preparing special meals, laughing and conversation with her family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins. Graveside services and burial will be held at the Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2:30 p.m.
