Listen to Obituary
Lynette Kelley, affectionately called "Nettie Kay" was born August 27, 1949 in Sterling, Colorado. She graduated from Sterling high school in 1967. She met Mike Fortunato at the local A&W restaurant April 6, 1967 and later married on December 29, 1968.

They spent their early years in marriage living in Sterling, raising their two children, Craig Fortunato and Carol Ackerman. The family moved to Morrison, Colorado for three years and then moved to Fort Collins in 1980 where the children went to Beattie Elementary, Boltz Junior High and Rocky Mountain high school.

Nettie Kay loved many different interests and hobbies such as gardening, clogging (with Carol), horseback riding, the Denver Nuggets, and playing her flute. She loved to bake and have people over to her home. She was passionate about loving her family. She longed to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She always cherished time visiting with extended family in person as well as having multiple telephone calls lasting up to eight hours long! Nettie Kay always had time available. You would never hear her say, "Well, I have to go".

Nettie Kay was raised in The First Christian Church in Sterling and professed Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized as a believer in Jesus as a little girl. Mike and Nettie Kay matured in their faith in Jesus Christ through several different churches, and are active members at LifePointe Church these past 13 years.

She loved spending time with her husband and caring for her horses. Nettie Kay accidently fell from her horse and suffered a tremendous brain injury on Thursday May 24th and after many valiant efforts of the medical community and staff of MCR hospital she entered into eternal life with Jesus forever on May 28, 2018.

Nettie Kay is survived by her husband, Mike Fortunato, sister Sharon Manuello (Bill), children, Craig (Rhonda) and Carol (Brian) Ackerman. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Emma and Jamie Fortunato and Justin, Eliana and Kayla Ackerman.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dean and Roberta Kelley and brother Brian Kelley.
