LUCILLE RUTH TAKES
1927-2020
Lucille Takes passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2020 at Spring Creek Health Facility.
Lucille was born in Michigan where she attended Michigan State University to pursue a career in teaching Physical Education and English. She met her lifetime partner while working for the summer in Estes Park, CO. After they were married they moved to Colorado where she pursued her love of sports as a Physical Education teacher/Coach at CSU and then on to Wellington Elementary and Middle School.
After retirement she enjoyed playing golf, swimming, gardening and many other activities. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandkids play sports.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by two daughters, Debi Blevins of DeBary, Florida and Laura Bell of Fort Collins and 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A service in her honor will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 11:00 am.
