Lucille Kinnunen, 92, of Fort Collins, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006, at a local nursing home after an illness. She was born Sept, 4 1913, in St. Joseph, Mo., and grew up on the family farm. She lived in Colorado for 71 years, mostly in the Fort Collins area. Lucille raised three children and was a homemaker. She also worked outside of the home in a nursing home and at CSU. She and her husband, Walter, owned Kinnunen Wood Products and retired in 1979. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping and spent as much time in the mountains as she could. Her husband, Walter, preceded her in death in April 2004, and her daughter, Barbara Kirk, passed away in November 2000. Six brothers and sisters are deceased. Lucille is survived by her son, Richard Dobson and daughter-in-law, Donna, of Florence, Ore.; her daughter, Pat and son-in-law, Patrick, of LaPorte; her sister, Dolores Kirkpatrick of St. Joseph, Mo.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She as loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. A private burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Garden and a memorial service will be held later for family and friends.
