Lowell Rex Davis was born June 19, 1934, in Henderson Iowa, to Rex and Reva Davis. He died February 22, 2021, from complications due to surgery. Lowell was a hardworking man, working for farmers and helping with the family farm growing up. He was employed as a lineman for Northwestern Bell Company, then entered the army in advanced infantry. Lowell left for Germany during the Korean Conflict and drove a 2.5 ton 6x6 truck with the pontoon division along the Rhine River near the Wall of East Germany. Before being stationed in Germany he took leave to marry his love, Janis Hendrickson. After his service, he returned to Mountain Bell in Colorado Springs then moved to Fort Collins. After almost 30 years as a lineman he worked as an independent contractor installing fiber optics around the country at many universities, including Colorado State University. He was an avid gardener, never letting the severe pain he lived with stop him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis and his grandson Jacob Cramer. He is survived by his 3 children Mike Davis (Jody), Julie Cramer (Gary) and Jill Cross as well as his sister, Sherene O'Quinn. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, with 2 more great grandchildren to be born in the very near future.
Because he was led to Jesus Christ by his boyhood school mate and his best friend, Frank Mann, he now dwells in heaven with his beloved Savior and is with his wife whom he has sorely missed since her passing 3 ½ years ago. We will miss him, as much as he has missed his beautiful wife.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The interment with military honors will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
