Luis Trujillo passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2022 surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born in Fort Collins, CO on Oct. 11th, 1932 to his parents Benardino and Martina (Duran) Trujillo. He lived in Fort Collins most of his life. Luis ("Louie") always loved music and singing from the time of his childhood. He played the guitar and performed with his wife Betty (Maxwell) Trujillo for weddings, parties and special occasions. They sang traditional Mexican songs in Spanish to the delight of friends and family. Louie loved to dance and celebrated life and his love of family.
As a young adult Louie began working construction and joined the union for concrete workers (LiUNA). He worked on many large, important projects including DIA and NORAD. No job was too big or too small for Louie in his dedication to providing for his family. He never missed work and always volunteered to help family or friends move or with their home projects. His dedicated work ethic set a strong example for his children and grandkids. Louie was a firm believer in getting an education and wanted the best for his loved ones. After retiring from his career as a concrete finisher he worked in the sign business at Jackson Brooks & Co as a fabricator and laborer.
Louie was an avid golfer and his other hobbies included Fishing and Hunting. He loved the outdoors and faithfully took his granddaughters to and from school and their sporting events. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos football and the Colorado Rockies baseball teams.
After retiring he spent time growing a large vegetable garden and grooming his yard. His home was always a welcoming place for extended family and close friends and was the scene of many backyard barbeques and parties that created lasting memories for everyone. He and his wife, Betty were members of Holy Family Catholic church for many years. He served as Chaplain for the local American Legion Post No. 187.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Betty, his sisters Isabel, Francis, Vernadina, and Maria and his children Louise Archibeque, Jimmy Trujillo, Dave Blanco, and Billie Michelle Valdez. He is survived by his brother Tobias Trujillo, his sons Randy (Diana) Trujillo, Gary and Steve Trujillo, and stepchildren Connie Blanco, Sam (Karen) Blanco, Bob Blanco, Emily Clark, JoAnn (Brian) Brooks, and Mary (Steve) Kaltenberger. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind, including 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
